We are always excited to have new smiling faces in our office! As a new patient, we want your first visit to be fun as well as informative. The initial consultation consists of a thorough, yet relaxing examination and a discussion of potential treatment options. The initial consultation is a complimentary visit, and no charges are rendered to you or your insurance until any treatment actually begins.
The first thing we do is take digital photos of the patient’s smile and teeth. These initial photos are used later during the consultation to show the functional and cosmetic relationship of the teeth, close up. Dr. Wilson then performs an individual, detailed analysis on each patient. If treatment is necessary, we review in detail the dental issues, best possible treatment options and potential outcomes from treatment. We take the necessary time to ensure there is a clear understanding of the orthodontic process and next steps. At the end of the appointment, the following questions should be answered:
- Is there a condition that needs to be addressed?
- Will orthodontics help improve this condition?
- Is treatment needed now or should it be delayed until appropriate growth, tooth eruption or other factors have occurred?
- What treatment procedures will be used to correct the problem?
- How long will treatment take?
- How frequent are the appointments?
- How much will it cost?
- What are my payment options?
You can assist us by providing the following information at the time of your first visit:
- Panoramic X-ray taken within the past 6 months. (Ask your dentist’s office for this)
- Your dental insurance card. (Please make sure it is dental and not medical)
Your scheduled appointment time has been reserved specifically for you. We request 24-hours notice if cancelling an appointment. We understand that unforeseen events sometimes require missing an appointment and appreciate your cooperation.
